What is a Facilitator?

A facilitator is more than a teacher. Facilitators are knowledge-brokers who adapt to the needs of their learners in all aspects of the educational process. Having close connections with those they teach but also with other facilitators near them, they are able to determine and share best practices.

An essential aspect of open educational resources (OER’s) is the ability to localize resources. Facilitators are encouraged to adapt curriculum and resources to meet local needs (i.e. by adding translations to local dialects or by revising examples/stories to fit in with local culture). If you have any questions about revising, remixing, or adapting content, please email [email protected]
