ACAN’S STORY

Acan went for a meeting with the other women in her savings group. She had wounds on her body. Her friend asked her what had happened to her.

 

 

She answered that her husband had beaten her because she wanted to come to the women’s meeting.

The husband complained that she did not respect him as a husband and father.

The friends advised her not to suffer silently. Instead, she should report the case to the local authorities, because her rights as a woman were being violated.

 

 

ACTIVITY- ROLE PLAY

Create a role play in which the women’s group members give Acan advice on how to deal with her husband, using as many of the key vocabulary words as possible.
